Everything regarding our service call was terrific. We needed 4 locks rekeyed and all the same. Our technician talked to us about all of the details and options before beginning and listened to our concerns regarding security at our location. He offered several choices due to the fact that not all of our locks currently in use could use the same key. We made the best choice for our needs and he proceeded. The gentleman greeted me w smiles n helped answer questions I had about keys and locks. I went there looking to replace my fiances lock on his toolbox only to have to have a key made! Yay! I highly recommend anyone needing anything to do w keys and locks and key fobs and cable locks to definitely check them out!! Wasn't bad of a price either. 👍👍

I bought an old Toyota Tacoma from a Montrose guy and he didn't bother to tell me that the ignition key would not work in the doors. Luckily I don't normally lock my doors so I didn't get locked out on my way home the day I bought the truck. A week later, my husband and I were shopping in Montrose and we locked the doors. We were unable to get in. We texted the lovely man Kellen who sold us the truck and he said he has never had a problem. Liar. Brian answered the phone at American and was at our car within ten minutes. He had us in the car in no time. It was only $68, which to me is very cheap for what you get, and I have no desire to use a coat hangar on my truck, even if it is old. Brian was very pleasant and I will definitely use these guys again. I just hope I don't need to. Thanks for saving the day.

After I purchased an older vehicle with considerable mileage on it I had Chance make me a couple of new keys for it. I went to their business after speaking with Chance by phone. They maintained social distancing and wore masks because of Covid 19 virus and the keys work just as expected. Chance was able to use a Clonable Transponder key and cut and program it by extracting the info needed from the keys I had. He also cut me a key that I will use as a stash key just in case I lock myself out of my vehicle which I have done before. 😏
These men are very professional, informative, courteous, and prompt. I have done business with them in the past and will continue to do so as needed and recommend them highly when you need a locksmith.

This is the second time that we have used American Locksmithing in Montrose, Colorado.
They are true professionals. The first time was a home visit to rekey and repair external locks. What a wonderful feeling of safety and security to have the locks updated and rekeyed. The personnel are fast and thorough. And, gosh, pleasant. What a concept.
The second time was a visit to their shop in town to have remotes cut and programmed for our Jeep Wrangler. The labradors must eat them, I don’t know! Anyway it was done quickly and efficiently.
Best news, the cost was reasonable and honest!

We were traveling with our RV and the key broke off in the lock. I called American who gave us directions to their facility late on Friday. They were able to get the broken key out and back on the road in 30 minutes. The charge was very reasonable at $35. Gave them 5 stars for a great job without gouging travelers--but also being so nice & friendly.

The guy I talked to on the phone was super friendly. Wven though they couldn't program the key I needed for a jaguar, they can do almost any other key I was told. And their prices are pretty good too.
